The Wesley Public Library is open 4 days a week and is located on Main Street in Wesley. The Library has a large selection of adult fiction books, most of which are in large print. The Library also has several non-fiction, junior fiction, junior non-fiction, and easy/easy reader books.
The Library provides a large number of videos and DVDs for its patrons FREE
of charge. There is also a large section of Audio Books and over 40 different magazine titles to choose from.
The Wesley Library has 4 computer stations for patrons to use. The computers are linked to wireless Internet service.
Lany Mitchell, Director, offers Children’s Story and Craft Hours and also offers an Adult Craft Hour.
A Summer Reading Program is offered to children every summer. Children keep records of minutes read and receive prizes for reading. The Program is held during July every summer and is designed to keep kids reading during the summer months.
Please feel free to contact the Wesley Public Library about any of the above information. We look forward to serving you.
Lots of changes happening at the library, both inside and out! New siding, paint, windows and doors, lighting, and a new sign will brighten up Main Street. Inside, we’re rearranging and working on improving the flow of things, and new flooring will be installed sometime this summer, too! Open hours may be altered during construction, and we thank you for your flexibility with that. (I will post ahead of time when I know.) Sometimes it’s a surprise to me, even! With supply chain issues, you never know when things will arrive, and when they are able to work, we work around their schedule!
Summer Library Hours will be in effect on June 1st. (Hours are subject to change based on demand for library services.)
Monday and Wednesday: 10:00-2:00
Summer Reading will also begin in June and run through August. “Read Beyond The Beaten Path” will be a self-guided program, meaning kids will keep track of their minutes read throughout the summer, and we’ll have special programming and prizes sprinkled in between. One special date to note now is June 23rd. Every Kossuth County library is sponsoring a camp at the Nature Center in Algona. (More details coming soon!!) PRE-REGISTRATION WILL BE REQUIRED for the Nature Center event! Be sure to check signs at the library and watch Facebook for more info regarding that. We are all so excited for all of the fun things we have for kids that day!!
We will also be hosting evening movie nights at the Wesley Pool again this summer! Dates and details will be posted at both places, and on the Library and Pool Facebook pages.
The GlowRun is also coming up quickly! Please get registered ASAP so that you are guaranteed a shirt. I do not make the shirts here, so once I order them, that’s it. Registration fees: $25/adult
$100/family (same household only)
Ages 3 and under are free, but if you’d like a shirt, there is a $10 fee
Just want a shirt? $15 will get you one.
The library Board will meet June 8th at 6:30pm. Book Club will meet to discuss on June 29th at 6:30pm. The next craft is a flip flop wreath, and will be held June 15th at 6:30pm. $25. Check Facebook soon for pictures!
As always, if you visit the library and we don’t have what you’re looking for, we are more than happy to get it for you!
Questions? Stop in! We love visitors!! Have a safe and happy summer!
